- Here, gone here and gone again, Shadow Stones are finally back
- Permanent invisibility exploit removed
- It’s been annoying, but with the fast update schedule we think we can cut Epic some slack for now
We seem to be at the end of the Shadow Stone saga. They were here, then they were gone, then they were here again, albeit briefly, and now it seems they are back for good — or so we hope! We hope!
If you missed the whole debacle, the issue was that under circumstances players remained invisible and were able to use their weapons, build and kill enemies all while invisible. Needless to say this was not intended and amounted to a kind of “god mode” (the invisibility element of Shadow Stones was supposed to cancel out the ability to use weapons). Check out the exploit below:
LOL WHAT IS HAPPENING! this happened randomly, pls fix. got killed as i took a cube > went fully invis for the rest of the game. able to use EVERYTHING while fully invisible and make 0 sound. pic.twitter.com/SB5Tebvgoe

This has obviously been extremely annoying for everyone, not least Epic Games, but we feel we should cut them a little bit of slack. Fortnite works to an extremely ambitious schedule and the rate of challenges and skins, and the updates introduced to the game on weekly basis is not something found in many other games. With the money Epic Games are raking in it’s surely only a matter of getting procedures in place to make sure these bugs are rare, so we expect they will iron out the bugs in their release process very quickly.
